Cat Brooks has launched her expected attack on Loren Taylor. Why? Because she’s afraid he’s going to win. Desperately, Brooks is throwing out lie after lie (in her usual fashion), hoping to chip away at Loren’s support.
Poor, deluded Cat Brooks. Still fighting her little war against the police, unaware that the world has passed her by. Her disgraced APTP cult is struggling to stay alive. No one with any credibility in Oakland wants to be associated with it or with her—not even Barbara Lee. An endorsement by Cat Brooks is poisonous; politicians would rather be endorsed by measles than by a disgruntled remnant of the racial grievance wars.
Brooks’s modus operandi is, of course, to smear her opponents with false accusations. Her favorite allegation—accusing people of racism—won’t work against Loren because Loren is—sadly, from Brooks’s point of view—Black. So instead, she trots out the fake accusation that Loren is the tool of White billionaires.
Brooks has borrowed from Donald Trump’s playbook in the use of incendiary allegations that have no basis in truth. Here she is attacking Taylor: “This man does not love us does not love Oakland and does not give two shyts about public safety.”
Not just attacking him, but threatening him: “if by some tragic twist of fate, he does end up in the mayoral seat Libby Schaaf’s 8 years of being bird dogged by us relentlessly will look like a day trip to Disneyland.” Personally, if I were Loren Taylor, I’d tell Brooks “FAFO.” Her vindictiveness and dishonesty are really shocking, but the truth is, the more irrelevant she becomes, the less it matters. It’s just an embarrassment that our wonderful city has to deal with someone as sick, angry and vengeful as Cat Brooks.
