Every time we think we’re finally rid of “Madame District Attorney” AKA Pamela Price, she arises from her coffin, stalking the streets of Alameda County like a vampire.
She thinks she’ll run again in 2026, which is just a little more than a year from now. Considering that she was recalled by 63% of voters, it would take a miracle for her to win. Voters clearly detest her. But then, when someone is mentally ill, they don’t think rationally. And Pamela Price is mentally ill.
Consider her “Pamela Price Unfiltered” substack. Like everyone else these days, she’s podcasting in an attempt to stay relevant. She’s not relevant, needless to say, but such is her hubris and megalomania that she believes the public is clamoring to return her to office, so that criminals can again be let off and cops can again be persecuted. What the public wants is the exact opposite, but Dracula Price’s mind is too warped to perceive it. She has enablers, like Cat Brooks, whispering in her ear that her recall was an anomaly, but Price’s supporters are as mentally ill as she is.
On that latest “Unfiltered” podcast, Price’s main argument is that her recall was the special target of Project 2025, the Trump-inspired blueprint for an authoritarian revolution in America. No one detests Project 2025 more than I do, but I don’t think it was aimed at Dracula Price in particular. Price knows that MAGA is enormously unpopular in Alameda County, so she blames her problems on Project 2025. She claims that the MAGA people have declared war on prosecutors, like her, who “decline to prosecute low-level offenses like…first time shoplifting cases, [who are] not charging every juvenile as an adult [and] not adding gang enhancement to every case [and] not charging LWOP (life without parole) or the death penalty” in the kinds of serious cases we repeatedly see in Alameda County.
Well, this is precisely why we recalled Price. There’s nothing Republican or MAGA about wanting a crackdown on crime. It’s American in its essence. We voters are sick and tired of progressive DAs who refuse to charge horrible thugs with felonies. We’re sick and tired of progressive DAs who feel sorrier for criminals than for their victims. We’re sick and tired of progressive DAs who say that people of color who commit heinous crimes should be let off the hook because they’re victims of structural racism. We’re sick and tired of the coddling of criminals by progressive DAs like Price, a Black woman, for going soft on Black criminals. This is not a MAGA complaint, it’s a complaint by upstanding, law-abiding citizens from across the political and racial spectrum. Price got caught trying to subvert justice for her own ideological ends, and the 62% of people who voted to recall her saw it and were disgusted. Now, she’s trying to guilt-trip them by calling them MAGA, but it won’t work, it can’t work, because it’s a Big Lie.
So, Dracula Price, crawl back into your coffin. You are not wanted. Voters are revolted by you, by your refusal to acknowledge us, by your blindness and racism and greed. You, Ms. Price, are the problem with Oakland. It took a while for us to educate voters what a lunatic you are, but we did it, thank God, and there’s no way you can undo that. We, the decent people of Alameda County, bear you no personal grudge, and we wish you peace, but your time as an elected official is over.
