Carroll Fife. Cat Brooks. Nikki Bas. Sheng Thao. Pamela Price. Rebecca Kaplan. I haven’t heard a word from any of them condemning the brutal rapes, kidnappings and murders that Hamas is committing against innocent Jewish citizens of Israel. It’s weird, isn’t it, because these women are always crying out for feminist rights.
Believe me, I’ve tried to discover anything they’ve said about Hamas. I’ve checked twitter feeds and Facebook posts. I’ve searched for any evidence of any condemnations and found nothing. I can’t say I’m surprised. There have always been anti-semitic and anti-Israel sentiments among progressives on the far left. Even Rebecca Kaplan, herself supposedly an observant Jew and a “rabbi,” has been remarkably quiet on the topic.
The Hamas-induced war puts the wokes in an uncomfortable position. They support the Palestinians because they’re fellow “freedom fighters” and the wokes always love a good narrative about poor people rising up against their aggressors. That’s fine; we live in a free country and if you wish to support the Palestinians, go right ahead. But supporting the Palestinian right to statehood doesn’t equate to supporting what Hamas has done and is doing to Israelis (and to some Americans as well). What’s so hard about saying “We strongly support the Palestinian people in their fight for justice,” while adding, “At the same time, we utterly condemn the barbaric violence Hamas is inflicting on Israelis”? You’d think that would be the easiest thing in the world, especially for Fife-Brooks & Co., people who live on social media and aren’t exactly shy about expressing themselves. But somehow, they can’t bring themselves to do it. At a time when everyone from the President of the United States to the Governor of California, as well as world leaders everywhere, is condemning Hamas in epic terms, our little woke progressives in Oakland are conspicuous by their silence. What else are we to infer except that they are enjoying seeing the wicked Jews get their comeuppance?
We really have to start questioning our woke leaders about this. Why the silence? Do these feminists have nothing to say about the rampant rape of Jewish women by Hamas terrorists? Do these defenders of “babies and children” care about the Jewish toddlers whom Hamas is beheading?
Look, Cat Brooks has a left long trail of anti-Zionist comments in her wake. I’ve talked before about Fife’s disturbing antipathy toward Jews. There’s a deeper, more hidden connection between these woke politicians and the anti-semitism at the heart of their ideologies. The Communist, Socialist inclinations of many Islamic authoritarian regimes, such as the “people’s republics” of Syria and Iran, appeals to Brooks, Fife & Co., who wish for the same thing in America. Anyone who hates America is a friend of Cat Brooks and Carroll Fife. Their vitriol is such that they would support our country’s enemies—who are bent on destroying us—in order to further their racist policies. The irony is that there are so many rich Jews in the hills of Oakland and Berkeley who love the progressive wokes and actually donate money to hate groups like the Anti Police-Terror Project. These useful idiots refuse to understand that, if the Brooks/Fife crowd is ever given power, it’s their necks that will be in the noose.
Am I saying that Oakland’s wokes are siding with America’s enemies? Absolutely. If they’re not anti-semites themselves—and some of them are, I believe--then they’re catering, for political expediency, to the hatred of Jews than has existed for decades on the Black Panther-affiliated extreme left. It’s time for us to call them out.
