Carroll Fife. Cat Brooks. Nikki Bas. Sheng Thao. Pamela Price. Rebecca Kaplan. I haven’t heard a word from any of them condemning the brutal rapes, kidnappings and murders that Hamas is committing against innocent Jewish citizens of Israel. It’s weird, isn’t it, because these women are always crying out for feminist rights.
How woke politicians are like Hamas
The news of the Israel-Hamas war is so horrible and overwhelming that it feels weird to be talking about our local issues while world-shattering events are unfolding across the Middle East. Even the recall of Pamela Price, important as it is, feels almost insignificant compared to what’s going down in Gaza and Israel.
On the money trail, a desperate Price resorts to lies
Madame D.A. is out there hustling for money so she can keep her job in the face of mounting public support for recalling her. She recently sent out a donation pitch with a cover note packed with disinformation and outright lies. I love exposing B.S. like this, so here goes. Price’s cover note is lengthy, so I’ll comment only on the silliest statements.
Martin v. Boise heads to the Supreme Court again
San Francisco has now joined a host of other complainants, including Gov. Gavin Newsom, in urging the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn an earlier Circuit Court decision requiring municipalities to offer homeless people shelter before clearing encampments.
Cops too often are victims of ambulance-chasing lawyers
Almost every day seems to bring news of a massive financial award paid by police departments to the families of men who were killed by police officers. The latest example is that of Erik Salgado, who was shot and killed by the California Highway Patrol in East Oakland in 2020. The CHP just paid his family $7 million.
